The short version: this website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from third parties. The apps and games we publish collect no data and work offline. If you email us, we keep your email so we can reply to it. That is all.

Who we are
This site is operated by The DFT Initiative Limited, trading as DFT Games Studios, a company registered in Ireland under number 628202, with its registered office in County Galway. We are the data controller for any personal data described here.

What happens when you visit this site
Our web server records a standard access log entry for each request, as almost every web server does. That entry contains your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page if there was one, and your browser’s user agent string.
We use those logs only to keep the site running and secure, for example to diagnose an error or investigate abuse. We do not use them to build a profile of you, and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors from them. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website.
We run no analytics software of any kind. There is no Google Analytics, no tracking pixel, no advertising network, and no social media tracking on this site. No third-party scripts, fonts or images load when you view a page.
Cookies
This site does not set cookies for ordinary visitors, and it does not use local storage in your browser. That is why you are not being asked to accept anything.
The only exception is for site administrators. If someone logs in to manage the site, WordPress sets session cookies that are strictly necessary for the login to work. That applies to us, not to you.
If you email us
There is no contact form on this site. If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to put in that email: typically your name, your email address and the content of your message.
We use it to reply to you and, where the exchange leads to work, to carry out that work. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and, where a contract follows, performance of that contract.
We keep correspondence for as long as it is useful for the matter it relates to, and longer where we are required to retain business records. We do not add you to a mailing list, because we do not have one, and we do not pass your details to anyone else.
Our apps and games
This statement covers the apps and games we publish on app stores, not only this website.
The principle is the same everywhere: we do not collect what we do not need. For everything we publish today, that means we collect nothing at all. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking identifiers, no accounts.
Wiccan Planetary Hours Clock, Android
The app calculates planetary hours from the real sunrise and sunset at your position, so it asks for access to your device’s location. That location is used on your device to perform the calculation. It is not transmitted to us, it is not stored anywhere outside your phone, and we have no means of seeing it.
The app collects no data and shares none with anyone. It contains no advertising and no analytics, and it works offline. That is what its Google Play data safety listing declares, and it is accurate.
Where a future title is different
Some kinds of game cannot work without sending something to a server: an online leaderboard, a saved account, a multiplayer session. If we publish a title that needs any of that, we will describe it here and on its store listing before it ships, and change the date at the top of this page. We will not quietly start collecting data under a statement that says we do not.
Two things already sit outside our reach. If you buy something from an app store, that store processes the purchase and we never see your payment details. If you contact support about an app, your message reaches us through Atlassian, which provides our helpdesk and processes support correspondence on our behalf so that we can reply.
Who else is involved
Our hosting provider, DreamHost, stores the site and its server logs on our behalf and acts as our data processor. The servers are located in the United States, so the limited data in those access logs is stored outside the European Economic Area.
For the apps, as described above, Google processes purchases made through Google Play, and Atlassian, which provides our support helpdesk, handles support correspondence so that we can answer it.
Beyond those, no one. We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with advertisers, and there are no analytics or marketing companies with access to this site or the app.
Links to other sites
We link out to places such as YouTube, Steam, Udemy and the Epic Developer Community. Those are ordinary links: nothing from those services loads or runs until you choose to click through. Once you are on their site, their privacy policy applies and ours does not.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form.
Email dpo@dftgames.com, which reaches the person responsible for data protection here, and we will deal with it. In practice, for most visitors there is nothing to retrieve, because we hold nothing about you unless you have written to us.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Changes to this statement
If we add anything that collects data, whether a contact form or an analytics tool on this site, or a feature in an app or game that sends information to a server, we will update this statement before doing so and change the date at the top.
